Butterfly Garden

Butterfly Garden Tucked in a small village in Thane easily accessible by road is Ovalekar Wadi. Run by  Rajendra Ovalekar and his brother it is an amazing place to see butterflies the size of the wadi is small 2 acre though the nature of work done and effort gone to make this Butterfly garden work is huge. You can spot many species of butterflies here from common to rare ones. You will be surprised to see the number of Butterflies that are hovering around you. It serves as a good for micro-photography. Mr Rajendra Ovalekar will take you around on a guided tour and share his garden with you. He has put more than a decade of labour into his Ovalekar Wadi. Mr. Ovalekar explained he has planted more than 200 species of plants and trees which are required to attract many species of butterflies. Some butterflies prefer fruit while some prefer flower nectar some live near grass and they need proper plants to lay their eggs. We saw a yellow common grass butterfly laid egg as he explained the stages in life of a butterfly.
