Maharashtra’s favourite God
Ganesh Chaturthi- Son of Lord Shiva and one of the favourite Gods of Maharashtra. Ganesh chaturthis is a 15 days long festival to celebrate the God who is known as the remover of (Vighna- obstacles) and also the reservoir of knowledge.
Ganesh idols of sizes ranging from 2 feet to 21 feet are brought at home and is placed on roads from anything from 1 to 15 days and then taken to the sea for immersion.
